Hi, I'm Gary. I grew up on the islands of Tutuila and Upolu, what my ancestors once called Samoa i Sasa'e (Eastern Samoa) and Samoa i Sisifo (Western Samoa)—now referred to as American Samoa and independent Samoa. I grew up hearing a lot of different kinds of music. Traditional Samoan folk, American Top 40, and more. To this day, I'm amazed at just how much the act of growing up there in the Samoan islands has profoundly shaped and influenced my music. The way I hear it inside me. The way I create it. The way it comes out.
My Story
I've opened for Stevie Wonder and shared the stage with artists like Lina, Jon B., Fiji, Common Kings, Justin Young, Kevin Nash, Sugarbitch, Danielle Egnew, Bonafide, Nonosina, Tracey Amos, Sabrina Vargas, I've collaborated and worked as a songwriter and producer with artists like Trynket, Deltron Blac, Mami Mia, Loa Greyson, Jerome Grey, Local Culture, Trey Smoov, Don L. Castor, Jazmin (America’s Got Talent, Season 3), and Rita Marie Valle.

My music can frequently be heard on cable networks like HBO Max, Netflix, Showtime, Paramount +, BBC, PBS, MTV, Bravo, E!, Starz, VH1 Classic, Encore, DirectTV, FX, Chiller, InDemand, and more. My music has also appeared in movies like as "All About Us" and "Prom Night."
King is 1/2 half of the production/writing team, Burnt Ships, and frequently collaborates with producer/drummer-extraordinaire, Nate Barnes, as well as French producer, Francois Rivollet.
